Aunt Vera’s Sugar Cookies

Set oven to 350F

Cream together:
1 C butter
1 C sugar or Splenda
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract

Sift together:
2 C all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

Make into small balls, place on cookie sheet and flatten with the bottom of a greased glass.

Bake: 6-9 mins. until fairly golden brown around the edges. Remove from cookie sheet after about 5 mins. and move to cooling rack.
